The stable doesn't close just because it's winter. The only thing that changes is that you need a proper pair of boots to cope with the cold. It's rare that you get to sit still when you're taking care of the horses, and then you need good winter boots to keep your feet feeling good. Today we are going to find out what is required of a pair of boots that you can use in the stable.
Comfort is more important than style
Of course, it's fun to have a pair of nice winter boots for the stable, but that's not what you should be primarily looking for. The most important thing is that the boots fit well on your feet and are comfortable. You should be able to wear the boots for several hours without chafing. Therefore, comfort is undoubtedly the most important thing when choosing boots.
Is it impossible to find a pair of boots that are both comfortable and stylish? Of course not. It's actually something we at Wobbi invest extra heavily in. We want everyone to get a pair of boots that they are happy with. This means that you must be satisfied, both with the comfort and with the design. We are not satisfied until you are satisfied.
Claim
However, there are a lot of other requirements that the boots also have to meet. They have to withstand the cold, they have to withstand wetness and they have to withstand mud. If your feet get wet, it won't be a fun stay in the stable. The same applies if your feet start to freeze. During the winter, a paddock can become very muddy. Therefore, your winter boots must be able to prevent the mud from penetrating the boot.
There is one more thing that the boot has to do and this is probably the most important thing so that you don't get seriously injured. Even the calmest horse can sometimes accidentally step on your foot. A horse weighs approximately 500 kilograms. If you don't have proper boots that can withstand this, you can get serious foot injuries, especially since the horses often wear iron horseshoes. Today, Wobbi does not have a model with a steel hood or similar protective boot, but that is something we are working on developing.
Your needs
Of course, we cannot know exactly what you need in your winter boots for the stable. All stables are different and you may not have the same chores as your peers. Therefore, think carefully before buying a pair of boots for the stable. What do you do every day and what do your boots need to be able to do your chores? If you have a good answer to that question, you will be able to find the perfect pair of winter boots that are right for you.
Which boot you should choose also depends a lot on where in the country you live. If you live in the north you will probably need a boot that is more lined than if you lived in the south. Similarly, in the south you may need a boot that can withstand more water because sleet and rain are common in winter instead of snow.
It's not easy to find the perfect pair of winter boots for the stable, but we hope we've made your choice a little easier. If you have any questions, we are always here to help. Feel free to contact us at Info@wobbi.se .
