Children's boots, what is important to consider?

Barnstövlar, vad är viktigt att tänka på?

The most important thing about a children's boot is that it fits well on the child's foot. The size should be appropriate, so that it does not slip when the child plays and jumps in puddles. It is also important that the boot is easy for the child to put on and take off.

The quality of the boot is important as children really put the boots to the test. Especially the small children put a lot of wear and tear on the boots. The boots must be waterproof no matter what the weather, that's the A and O.

All-weather boots are the best protection against cold and terrible days in kindergarten and on the toboggan run. A pair of Wobbi boots is a great joy and benefit when the temperatures drop.

Cleaning boots

Children love to be outside and more or less always get muddy and dirty. It is therefore important that all-weather boots are easy to keep clean. The boots must be waterproof right up to the shaft so that you can rinse and dry them with paper towels or a towel.

It is clearly more fun to clean a pair of boots that are completely molded without seams than a pair made of fabric and Gore-tex membrane. A pair of all-weather boots just need to be rinsed off and they're ready for preschool again, while cloth boots have to dry overnight.

The material the boots are made of

The material the boot is made of is of great importance for the boot to be comfortable and last a long time. Wobbi's children's boots are made of 100% EVA material, which is very durable and light. Children do not like to wear heavy rubber boots when they play, but want boots as light as possible to be able to jump higher. Wobbi's children's boots are definitely the lightest on the market due to the fact that they are molded in EVA material.

The lining in children's boots is also important so that the children's feet are kept warm even in cold weather. Wool mixed with polyester is a very good option that retains good heat and dries quickly. Cotton does not repel moisture and is not suitable as a lining in this type of boot.

All Wobbi boots are completely free of toxins and PVC, which can be harmful to children and the environment. It is very important to check that there are no poisons in the material the boots are made of.

Snow locks

Snow lock at the top of the shaft is very useful on a pair of children's boots. The lock prevents snow and dirt from getting into the boots so the inside gets dirty or wet. Of course, Wobbi's children's boots have snow locks.

Reflexes

Children love to be outside a lot and for a long time, so it is good to have reflectors on the boots too so that the children can be seen well even when it gets dark. Often the reflectors can be placed on the snow lock or on the heel of the boots. Reflectors are clearly a plus on a pair of children's boots.

Size

The fit must be good on the child so they want to continue using the boots. Then it is important to calculate the growth period. On boots, you should have an extra space of 15-20 mm. Children's feet grow very quickly and it is important that the boots are not too big or too small. Here you will find our size charts.
We use EU sizes and you can easily find inside measurements, outside measurements and shaft height in our size chart.

Good grip

It is important that the sole has a good grip even when it is slippery and icy. They should be grooved so that the child does not risk slipping when it is around the zero mark. Here, too, it is important that the material in the sole is not too hard at cold temperatures. The EVA material that the Wobbi boots are made of keeps the same soft shape even at extremely low temperatures, which means that the child always has a good grip.

Storage

Before it's time to store the boots after a tough season, it's best to clean them with lukewarm water and a mild soap. With the Wobbi boots, you don't have to worry about them drying out and losing their flexibility, which you usually have to think about with rubber boots. You also don't have to worry about the boots getting cracks and leaking water when it's time to pick them out for a new season.

Rubber boots usually need to be lubricated with an agent and stored in a dark and cool place to last.
