Wobbi Alex children's boots receive the award "BEST BUDGET CHOICE 2022" by Best in Test!
Best in Test has conducted a thorough & independent test with 14 of the market's most common children's boots. Wobbi Alex took home third place and the Wobbi Kim boots came shortly after in a fine fourth place.
Cheap doesn't have to be negative
"You shouldn't think that Wobbi Alex is cheap in the negative sense of the word, even though it is easy to initially draw that conclusion based on the somewhat plastic appearance. At the end of winter, it is established that Wobbi Alex can certainly measure up to significantly more expensive alternatives." - Best in Test
Warm lining that can withstand freezing temperatures
The fully molded boot is lined on the inside with a material mix of wool and polyester. After the end of winter, the lining feels somewhat flattened and a little more bumpy, but still complete and functional. The lining warms well up to approximately -10. In colder weather, you need to supplement with an extra sock.
Puddles and slush are no problem at all. Not a drop penetrates the boot, the child can wade around in the puddle for a long time without getting wet feet. If it's cold and snowy outside, the sole provides a good grip. Wobbi Kim has good tread depth and the child can climb up icy sledding slopes.
Works for the entire winter season
Wobbi Alex can be perceived as a bit stiff at first, but the children themselves have really liked the boots and run around with them without hindrance. The material is also felt to make the boots stable. Another aspect that is appreciated by the children is how easy the boots were to take off and on.
Where is the line between a lined boot and a winter shoe? Wobbi Alex basically functions as the only shoe through the winter. If you have to comment on something, it is the breathability of the boots, they have on occasion felt a little sweaty. Something a winter shoe in more textile material can be better at. Overall, the Wobbi Alex are very affordable lined boots, which, despite the first impression, make both children and parents very happy with the purchase.
